Each year we release a batch to celebrate the new year, explore a style, process, packaging or new area of interest for the brewery that we will continue to develop as the year moves along. For 2019, we have chosen to make a Belgian inspired blonde ale, brewed with Connecticut grown, malted and flaked Synergy barley, flaked and malted wheat that we lightly hopped during the boil with Czech Saaz and fermented with a blend of classic saison yeast strains that is similar to the original blend used for our initial house culture. A final dry hopping with Czech saaz keeps it crisp and floral, with a light pepper background character. This is one every day beer.
