A Journey Through Shadows & Reflections
Artwork by Anthony Massina
Beginning October 21 we will be showcasing Anthony’s photography and sculptures in our tasting room.
Join us for an opening reception from 5-7pm.
Born in Yonkers, NY and raised in Wappingers Falls, NY Anthony studied at Pratt Institute (90-91) and transferred to NY State University at Fredonia to receive his BFA in sculpture (91-94), later to Louisiana State University for his MFA (94-97). He now resides in Kent working as an artist and cabinet maker.
His earlier work was primarily steel structures mixed with found natural objects. He later worked on creating a series of highly stylized bronze animals. Over the past several years he has been using photography as his primary medium. In some of the photographs he uses found natural objects arranged as temporal still lives. Others deal with shadows and reflections placed in natural environments. His photos evoke a deep level of personal psychology and exploration. The ephemeral nature of his images are captured through photography and used as a means to self reflect.
