Anachronistic is born from our last batch of Anachronism, brewed in February 2018. From this batch we filled one single oak barrel with some of this Grätzer (German smoked wheat beer) inspired farmhouse ale. This barrel had been previously used in making the first batch of Second Nature Cherry and Flourish. Anachronistic aged for two years in the barrel, macerating on the remaining fruit, skins, and pits of Montmorency cherries (third use) and maturing along with wild yeast before bottling in the summer of 2020. The result is a bright golden farmhouse ale with a pleasing tartness and hints of smoke and cherry past.
