Sometimes, as a brewer, you stumble across an ingredient so intriguing, you just have to build a beer around it. The candy cap mushroom is a rare, fragile mushroom known for its aromatic qualities — and oddly enough, this mushroom smells exactly like maple syrup. As maple itself is one of our favorite flavors, and yet notoriously stubborn when it comes to expressing itself in a beer, we concocted this fungal experiment to pair syrup and shroom together in a full-bodied, silky stout. Enjoy the light roast and cocoa notes of our base stout paired with the earthy, sweet hints of maple syrup and candy cap.
