When our friends from Schneeule Berlin came to spend a few days at our farm and brewery their first reaction was that it was “Jans Weit Draußen” or more gently put “pretty far out there.”
We met Uli several years ago at Carnivale Brettanomyces as her brewery was opening. At the end of many days of shared meals, conversations and enjoying each others beers we brewed a “Connecticut Weisse” or lightly tart wheat beer using traditional German method’s Uli uses to produce her beautiful beers. To make this beer our own, we incorporated dried jasmine, wild chamomile foraged from our farm and a delicate dry hopping with Michigan grown Chinook.
